Some time ago Adobe announced that they were going to embrace the new 3D CAD format called U3D, and integrate it into products like Acrobat. According to this article on znet; Microsoft previews Avalon graphics engine Link , "Microsoft on Friday offered a public preview of Avalon, its all-new graphics and presentation engine for Windows."
