Last night I was thinking I should check out IconX again
since there was a new version released last week.
I haven't used it for a long time since it was messing up
my personal settings by moving labels, forgetting fonts
and effects etc.
Well, after installing v 1.10.007 I found that it is still
have the same bad bugs =\
Example:
The only permanent icon on my desktop is the Recycle Bin
so I use that as my test object.
After starting IconX I chose the Theme "Default" and start
changing the settings so it will look and work as I want it:
1. I set the label image for all states to be Silica.png
2. I remove the shadow on both the Icon and Label for all states.
3. I have to set the "Merge color" for all states of the Label to white,
since the "Merge color" is used by the Label even though that
option is not checked.
4. The only effect I want to use is the Icon and Label trasparency so for;
Normal:
a: "Mouse away" I set the Transparency for the Icon to 148
and the Transparency for the Label to 128
b: "Mouse over" I uncheck Transparency for the Icon
and also for the Label
Selected:
c: "Mouse away" I uncheck Transparency for the Icon
and also for the Label
d: "Mouse over" I uncheck Transparency for the Icon
and also for the Label
5. I let the font options at the default settings,
being Tahoma at size 10.
6. I go to the Themes tab and click "Save as..."
and save my settings with a new name.
Now, here's what happen when I drag the Recycle Bin top another
place on the desktop:
1. Problem 1: The Normal, "Mouse away" state for the Icon loses it's transparency showing
the Icon 100% opaque, the Label is not affected though.
2. I then open up the IconX dialog to reload my setting I saved previously
(since the transparency setting "shows" that it is in use (checked) although
it's not).
This corrects the transparency issue for the above mentioned state making
the Normal, "Mouse away" Icon state look as I had set it originally.
3. Problem 2: For some reason the reloading of my personal setting
messes up the Selected, "Mouse over" state for the Label removing
the "Font" setting, the "Font Size" is set to "0" and the
"Background Image" has been deleted too from the IconX Settings dialog.
Conclusion:
It seems that IconX doesn't remember some settings when moving and Icon
and deletes some settings when reloading saved personal settings.
Please, advice on what I should do in order to not having to change
the settings as soon as I move an icon on the desktop.
